ABOUT THE ARTIST

Samira Miche’

Samira Miche’ is a Gullah Geechee artist and multidisciplinary creative based in Charleston, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina. A pen artist, professional UI designer, creative director, and hip-hop enthusiast, Samira’s work merges technical precision with cultural storytelling. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Charleston in 2013 and has since cultivated a dual career that bridges fine art and digital design, exploring how both forms communicate identity and experience.

Samira’s primary medium is blue ballpoint pen—a meticulous, linear technique through which she transforms ink into expressive portraits that celebrate positivity, identity, and heritage within Black culture. Her concept-driven works weave together elements of Gullah Geechee and African diasporic traditions, translating beliefs, customs, and languages into compelling visual narratives. Through each deliberate stroke, Samira reclaims representation and articulates a contemporary vision of Black beauty, brilliance, and pride.
