Most people know me as Samira, SM (my initials, short for Samira Miche’).
I consider myself a multi-hyphenate of sorts: pen artist, professional user interface designer, creative director, hip hop enthusiast.

I went to college / art school, and finished at The Art Institute of Charleston in 2013 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Not long after I established a professional career in the tech industry as a graphic designer, later transitioning into UI/UX Design.

I still take on freelance illustration projects and content creation campaigns utilizing my skillsets from illustration to DJ’ing. I love my pen art style, a linear art form using pens to create portrait images on paper. The themes in my art focus on portraits of positivity and identity within black culture. As an exciting emerging artist, my designs are concept-driven with strong imagery complements. I am passionate about translating a diverse collection of traditions, customs, beliefs, practices, art forms, languages, and social behaviors that have emerged from the experiences of people of African descent into meaningful artwork.
